The Legend of “the Kid”

Hico will forever be tied to the legend of Henry “Billy the Kid” McCarty. The story goes that the legendary outlaw met his end in Fort Sumner, New Mexico when he was at the young age of 22 years old, but the rumor suggests that he was not killed there. Instead, he escaped and eventually made his way to Hico, Texas where he would live out his days under the alias of “Brushy Bill” Roberts. Brushy Bill’s claim has been contested since it first came out of his mouth, but around here… he’s the Kid.

The Henry is located in downtown Hico.

Convenient dining options are all within walking distance from The Henry.

Take a trip downstairs to visit OmaLeen’s, where the nostalgia of the Old West meets the flavors of the New South.

Please note that with OmaLeen’s Restaurant downstairs, you can expect to hear some noise in the rooms above.
